Unicorn Afternoon Tea
We had the absolute pleasure of reviewing the Unicorn Afternoon Tea at Cardamon Tea Lounge. Set in Colchester Essex, this quaint traditional tea room features on our list of The Best Afternoon Teas in Essex.
The Cardamon Tea Lounge and Shop is a real gem and a wonderful little tea room set across two floors. They offer over 50 varieties of tea and such imaginative and creative Themed Afternoon Teas in Essex. The Unicorn Afternoon Tea is running for the month of September 2019 so be sure to get booked in to avoid disappointment.
Savouries
The Unicorn Afternoon Tea is one of The Cardamon Tea Lounge’s more traditional afternoon teas. Set out on a 3 tier cake stand you’ll find on the lower layer a selection of savoury sandwiches and wraps. The mini spinach wrap with chicken, cranberry and cream cheese was one of my favourites! We also had cream cheese and pickle in a beetroot wrap, a cheese and caramelised onion sandwich and lastly a humous & tomato sandwich. You also receive a salmon cream tartlet.
The Sweet Stuff
The unicorn shaped scones are such a wonderful addition to the Unicorn afternoon Tea. A freshly baked scone served with clotted cream and jam. The scones at Cardamon Tea Lounge are always freshly baked in-house and are delicious!
On the top layer of the cake stand, you will not be disappointed with the colourful sweet treats on offer. A unicorn cake with rainbow frosting, mini donut, macaroon and lots of yummy themed chocolate and sweets. You also get a Rainbow Cheesecake parfait, a delicious cheesecake served in a glass.
Children’s Unicorn Platter
The Cardamon Tea Lounge serves themed children’s afternoon tea platters and are sure to delight almost every child with many themes to choose from throughout the year.
Each platter comes with a drink, shaped sandwich and themed cakes, fruit and sweets.
A children’s Unicorn Platter is £9.50.

The Cardamon Tea Lounge offer something that little bit different from everyone else. They specialise in themed afternoon teas, each month brings a new theme. The attention to detail is incredible.
