DIY Easter home decoration ideas to create your perfect display

So Easter is just around the corner and it is the perfect time to getting ‘cracking’ on your DIY Easter home decoration. Whether your Easter Home display means simply some bowls dressed with colourful eggs, decorating an Easter tree or a full Easter display, your bound to have fun doing it. Easter home decorations seems to be a trend that is taking off lately and I love it!

It is also a great time to create some special memories by making your own cute Easter decorations. Here’s an idea for a super simple Easter Hanging Egg Craft idea that will help you decorate your Easter Tree.

I’ve been decorating my home with Easter decorations since my daughter was little and enjoy making Easter Crafts with her. Here is what we do to decorate for Easter at home:

Easter Tree

For me, I like my focus point of my DIY Easter home decor to be my Easter tree. Over the years I bought and made all different types of eggs to hand on it. I love a white twig tree to hang all my Easter decorations. Something like this table top Easter egg twig tree.

Or if you wanted to go a slighter larger twig tree. You can get Easter Egg hanging decorations from many high street stores, here is a great bright selection of 24 Easter hanging eggs. I have also made some of my own Easter Hanging Eggs and it is really simple. A great craft to do with the kids and includes a free Easter Egg printable to use, which can also be used for other fun Easter Crafts.

I’ve also picked up some wooden decorations from craft fairs and there are a great selection at Hobbycraft Easter decorations that you can make or paint yourself.

Artificial Grass

I used a small roll of artificial grass to create the base of my display. The Easter decorations look really nice and stand out well against it, it gives The Easter display a spring feel.

Chocolate

I think no Easter home display is complete without a little chocolate! You could fill a jar or bowl with some mini chocolate eggs or treats to get you in the Easter mood. These bunny ear jars are available at Home Bargains or One Beyond.

Backdrop

New this year I chose to add a artificial floral backdrop to my Easter display, to make it feel more like spring! Plus my fireplace is black and not very Easter like, so I used little plastic hooks to hang it up, which works perfectly and does’nt mark the walls.

Easter Rabbits

I love the straw Easter bunnies, I got my large rabbit from a local garden centre, here are similar Easter straw rabbits. You also get green bunnies that look like they are made from grass which always look nice.

Easter decorations

Lots of the cheap shops like, Poundland, B&M, Home Bargains and One Beyond have a great selection of Easter decorations. These cute little Easter gonks were less than a couple of pounds each. I also picked up the floral decorations tied in hessian from Poundland which look great either side of my fireplace.

TK Maxx and Flying Tiger also have a great Easter range or decorations, so always worth a look. My giant chick came from Flying Tiger and my trio of gonks were from TK Maxx.

Easter Wreath

A Wreath is always a lovely addition to brighten up your door at Easter Time. Whether it is shop bought or handmade, there are some beautiful Easter Wreaths to choose from. I bought this one from the talented Mrs H’s Decorative Delights.
