Horrible Histories Terrible Tudors Live Show

We were invited to the press event of the Horrible Histories Terrible Tudors Live Show. Playing at London’s Garrick Theatre in Leicester Square from 27th July until 2nd September 2023 and appearing in theatres across the country until December.

The Show

‘From the horrible Henries to the end of evil Elizabeth, hear the legends (and the lies!) about the torturing Tudors. Find out the fate of Henry’s headless wives and his punch up with the Pope. Meet Bloody Mary and see Ed fall dead in his bed. Survive the Spanish Armada as they launch their attack!’

It’s history with the nasty bits left in!

What to expect

The stage design of the Terrible Tudors is simple but clever. There is a chest in the middle and what looks like two boat masts, hung with the cast clothes ready for a quick change. This show is all about the performance of the actors.

With a small cast of just two, they cleverly use props and switching costumes and wigs within minutes to transform themselves into yet another character. It is really cleverly done. They tell the tales of the Tudors with all the gory details and lots of laughs included.

The actors are truly brilliant, extremely animated, putting in 100% effort into each character and the audience are left truly entranced.

The Terrible Tudors live show is full of humour and energy and the hour flies by so quickly. It was a real laugh out loud production from start to finish. With some audience participation included and definitely a song or two to get stuck in your head long after the show has finished. We laughed out loud throughout the production. This is definitely a super funny, family friendly show, all ages will love it.

Horrible Histories Terrible Tudors Show is a must-see family theatre show with all the drama, gory facts from years gone by and lots of fun and belly laughing. You will not be disappointed.
