Quality time

Quality time is something that can easily be pushed aside as life gets busy. Taking time to reconnect is important for any relationship. A picnic in the park, for example, with your favourite snacks and drinks can create the perfect environment for lovely conversations. Make sure you pack a blanket as the British weather can change quickly!

You could also plan a game night at home. Charity shops are great for sourcing new board games so get learning together and enjoy playing! Laughter and friendly competition can really strengthen a relationship.

DIY date night

Date nights can encompass a range of different activities, but you can recreate some at home. Why not create a cooking class at home? You can both choose a recipe and whip it up together with some music and a glass of wine.

Art sessions are also a lot of fun. Pop to your local craft shop to get some paints, canvases and brushes and let your creativity fly. You could paint each other’s portrait, or swap canvases every 5 minutes to create a unique picture. This could also be really funny and create a happy relaxed environment.

Outdoor adventures

Getting out and about is a good way to reset your relationship and prevent you from getting stuck in a rut. The UK is packed full of beautiful scenery and it is time you enjoy some of it.

Hiking isn’t for everyone, but exploring your local trails can uncover some hidden gems. If you get the walking bug, you could travel further afield to your nearest national park and challenge yourselves to a harder or longer walk.

Stargazing is a low-energy activity that is full of romance. There are plenty of places across the country where light pollution is low, giving you the perfect view of the skies above. If you are ready, this could be the perfect time to propose.

Small gestures

Small gestures can often have the biggest impact on a relationship. If you feel like you need to express your love a bit more often, why not leave little love notes for your partner to find? You could make it a daily thing or turn it into a bit of a treasure hunt if you have to go away for a few days.

Gifts are lovely and they do not have to break the bank. You could give your partner some of their favourite chocolates or pick up a book you think they will love. If your partner has specific interests such as plants or crafting, adding to their collection will mean a lot.
