The afternoon tea at The Inn at Belfairs is served Monday to Saturday 12pm until 4pm. It is £29 per person Mon – Fri (12pm – 4pm) and £35 per person Sat (12pm – 4pm) and includes unlimited tea or coffee. Your afternoon tea is served on a 3 tiered stand including an additional plate for your scones with a traditional china tea set.
This afternoon tea is an afternoon tea with a difference! Without a finger sandwich in sight, instead you receive a selection of generously topped crostinis. The flavours included:
- Bruschetta, Pepper, Tomato, Onion & Balsamic Glaze
- Chicken & Bacon, Red Onion & Rocket
- Salmon & Cream Cheese, Fresh Dill
The Chicken and Bacon was my favourite! They were all really delicious and packed with flavour and the crostinis kept their crunch which was nice. They made a great alternative to a traditional afternoon tea finger sandwich. Alongside these you receive a hearty homemade sausage roll and the most delicious savoury muffin! The Goats Cheese, Spinach & Herb muffins were so tasty and are an excellent addition to the afternoon tea!
The Sweet Stuff:
The savouries were followed by large home made scones, served with plenty of clotted cream and Tiptree Jam. Alongside your scones, you receive a gorgeous array of sweet treats including a chocolate orange mousse, lemon drizzle cupcake, a generously sized shortbread biscuit and the most incredible Biscoff cheesecake. This was a really lovely selection of home made cakes! You will not be disappointed with this afternoon tea. The Biscoff cheesecake in particular was a triumph, it really was delicious!
The stunning decor at The Inn at Belfairs really makes this the perfect place to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea. It has to be one of the most prettiest venues in Essex! It feels like a special occasion seated within this floral setting. Backed by great food and homemade cakes this was a lovely relaxed experience. The afternoon tea at The Inn at Belfairs was absolutely delicious and definitely one for the list!
