We visited the Tearoom at Morley Nurseries in Great Wakering Essex to try out their afternoon tea. The onsite tearoom offers a great food menu that not only offers afternoon tea but a selection of all-day breakfasts, light lunches and homemade cakes. They also serve Illy Coffee and TeaPig Teas. At Morley Nurseries Tearoom. They have a reputation for their wide range of homemade cakes and scones which are baked daily by their very talented in house baker Ryan. The Afternoon Tea at Morley Nurseries Tearoom in Wakering, Essex

The Classic Afternoon Tea at Morley Nurseries Tearoom is £18.95 per person, Kids is £10.95 per child and takeaway is £15.95 per person. They also do a Themed afternoon tea those extra special occasions such as: Birthdays, Mothers Day, Baby Showers, Valentines Day. They can be personalised and have a few added extras to give your Afternoon Tea that special ‘WOW’ factor! These are £22.95 per person or takeaway is £19.95 per person.

• Chicken Pesto & Sundried Tomato on Granary Bread
• Egg Mayonnaise & Cress on Wholemeal Bread
• Mediterranean Roasted Vegetables & Hummus on Granary Bread
• Turkey & Cranberry on White Bread (Seasonal – please check for availability)
• Brie & Cranberry on White Bread
• Vegan Cheese & Tomato on White Bread
• Mozzarella, Pesto & Sundried Tomato on Wholemeal bread

We selected the roast beef & horseradish, turkey & cranberry, salmon & cream cheese and egg mayonnaise. It was hard to choose from such an amazing selection of fillings! It is a really nice touch that you can choose your own. The sandwiches were freshly made, deeply filled and came in a selection of white and granary breads and brioche mini rolls. They were accompanied by some freshly baked savoury treats served warm! A mini quiche and a pastry, these were delicious.

The Sweet Stuff:

The savouries were followed by home made warm scones, dusted with icing sugar and served with clotted cream and Tiptree Jam. These had a nice crust and were soft inside, very nice scones. Alongside your scones is a gorgeous array of sweet treats including, chocolate cake, carrot cake, victoria sandwich, a biscoff cake truffle (this was incredibly rich but absolutely divine!), a biscuit and macaroons. This were a really lovely selection of incredibly moist fresh cakes! You will not be disappointed by these fabulous cakes!

My thoughts:

They really looked after us at Morley Nurseries Tearoom, the staff were so friendly and it was an inviting, busy, vibrant tearoom with an amazing selection of cakes and a pleasant outdoor garden seating area. Ryan their 21 year old baker is really very good at what he does, his cakes were a triumph! We had such a lovely experience, the afternoon tea at Morley Nurseries Tearoom was absolutely delicious, definitely one to visit!
