Pumpkin picking in Essex
Now Autumn is upon us we thought it was the perfect time to visit Cammas Hall once again for some pumpkin Picking in Essex. We visited Cammas Hall Farm for Halloween a few years back and we were blown away by how much it has changed over the years. They’ve really put so much effort into making this one of the best Pumpkin picking patches and Halloween Events in Essex!
If you’re looking for other fun Halloween days out or half term activities, then check out some of our favourite Halloween Days out in Essex.
Cammas Hall Farm Halloween Experience
Upon arrival we checked in for our time slot and headed into their Halloween experience. We started off trying out their three Wicked Walkway Halloween tunnels. These were so much fun to walk through, we had a blast. They had decorated them with scarecrows, spiders and all sorts of spooky characters and props. They start off very mild for younger visitors and if you choose, you can test your wits by entering the scarier tunnels. The scariest tunnel was labelled as age 11+ years. They had some scarier characters and props inside this tunnel which moved and jumped out at you. I am a bit of a scaredy cat but was completely fine, I just sent in my child first of course! I think this is great as it has something to keep both the younger and older children entertained, catering for all ages and sensibilities.
The Pumpkin Patch
Cammas Hall Pumpkin Patch is a great spot for pumpkin picking in Essex with over 70 varieties to choose from. It has a huge array of pumpkins and squash in all colours, arranged in groups to make them easy to find. There are signs displayed to show you the different types. They were also very reasonably priced. You simply grab a cart and pick your pumpkin. I bought some squash, as they are great for an autumnal dinner and keep for absolutely ages (unlike half the veg in my fridge!).
There were plenty of photo opportunities and several Halloween characters roaming around the pumpkin patch to join in with the fun. We met a Ghostbuster, a Pirate, Scarecrow and Witch during our visit. They all kept in character and were so friendly and interactive. In the pumpkin patch area they also had a catering van with some seasonal food and drinks options. We enjoyed a yummy hot chocolate.
Farm Shop and Halloween Gift Shop
The Farm Shop and Halloween Gift shop was decorated in a fun and spooky theme, with lots of fun Halloween themed gifts and treats to buy. You can even buy your pumpkin carving set if you don’t have one already.

This was a super fun Halloween and pumpkin patch experience. We all had such a great time! We laughed and jumped in the Wicked Walkway and got some lovely photos in the pumpkin patch before choosing our perfect pumpkin to take home and carve. I’d absolutely recommend a visit.
