For Christmas at The Cardamon Tea Lounge in Colchester, Essex, they are offering a wonderfully festive Nutcracker Afternoon Tea.
The Cardamon Tea Lounge is a lovely little tea room with an Alice in Wonderland twist and also features on our list of The Best Afternoon Teas in Essex. It is a real hidden gem and in particular has become a popular spot for wonderful and imaginative Themed Afternoon Teas in Essex. The Nutcracker themed afternoon tea is running for the month of December 2019 but will be back again in 2020.

THE NUTCRACKER AFTERNOON TEA

Christmas has hit the tea room with the Nutcracker Afternoon Tea and lots of festive fun. Your table is decorated with handmade decorations to bring your Afternoon tea to life.
The themed Nutcracker Afternoon tea was simply beautiful. Each element had been imaginatively designed and produced. The Cardamon Tea Lounge put so much effort into creating each themed afternoon tea and the Nutcracker Afternoon Tea is no exception.

THE SAVOURIES

First of all we enjoyed a wonderful handmade heart warming carrot and ginger soup. Followed by the most delicious selection of sandwiches, pate with chestnuts and pickle, cheese & caramelised onion and my absolute favourite has to be the chicken and cranberry filled croissant. The sandwiches are always very fresh and made with a mix of white and wholemeal bread.

THE SWEET STUFF

The savoury course at the Nutcracker Afternoon tea was followed by home made Orange and Cardamon scones served with clotted cream and jam. Along with this were so many festive themed sweet treats to choose from. They included a Sugar Plum white chocolate and winter berries Meringue parfait served in a tall glass, a chocolate and ginger Yule log cake, mini mince pie and lots of other yummy delights. The afternoon tea is also served with warming fairy hot milk served in a mini bottle.

Additionally the Nutcracker afternoon tea is accompanied with your choice of tea, coffee or cold drink. The Cardamon Tea Lounge have over 50 varieties of tea on offer.

The Nutcracker Afternoon Tea is £30 per head (plus service charge) and should be booked in advance. You can also book a smaller children’s version for children under 10 years for £20 per head.
